End The Union Flash Cards
Snippets of key information about Scotland's status within the UK that will help you understand what you can do to restore our independence — hint: it's not by asking permission.
How to restore our independence
Instead — repurpose your ballot paper into an independence message
Voting SNP (or Labour or Tory) will just send more do-nothing representatives from the UK colony of Scotland to Westminster.
What if instead, all of us who want independence wrote #endtheunion across our ballot paper? Spoiled papers are recorded and counted. We could send a direct message from the sovereign people of Scotland.

Then — stop asking
Where does it say that we need to ask Westminster's permission?
Where does it say that we can't simply leave the Union (the UK) anytime we want?
Where are these rules? You won't find them because they don't exist.

Then — stop thinking that we have to ask permission
Scotland and England entered a political union in 1707. The union was forged, and is still governed, by an international treaty, the Treaty of Union.
There is nothing in the treaty that says either party has to ask to leave the union.

Because we'll never get another one. But mainly because we really, really, don't need one.
Scotland's people are sovereign. That means that we're in charge — there is no higher authority, and that includes the British parliament.
So if we're in charge, why would we need to ask anybody?

All of Scotland's natural and manufactured resources. All of them.
The union of Scotland and England was a political and economic union. There's nothing in the treaty that says the British state can pillage and ransack from Scotland anything it damn well wanted. Yet that's exactly what it did. And it's still doing it today.
Shouldn't we put a stop to that? And then, ask for our money back.

Because the SNP has betrayed you and it has betrayed Scotland.
In 2015 we elected 56 SNP MPs out of Scotland's 59 MPs.
But instead of declaring independence, they just got comfortable. Instead of declaring independence, they simpered to the speaker that they were going to be good MPs. They acted their part — representatives of the UK colony of Scotland. They betrayed you.

Then — ask who or what would stop it. Scotland?
Just say, for a moment, that England thought it would be better off outwith the union. It's not such a daft thought. After all, isn't it always saying how much it subsidises Scotland?
Do you really think that Scottish unionists would have any say whatsoever in stopping England leaving the union?
