Let’s be a normal country. Let’s not ask. Sign the Edinburgh Proclamation
Scottish Self-Determination
A new government for Scotland
In pre-union Scotland, the sovereignty of the people outranked the monarch and parliament. Power was only lent from the people to government, which served the common good – or else. The people were represented by a separate body called the Convention of the Estates. The convention was powerful; it could sack governments and depose kings. We could bring back that style of government to Scotland. Imagine justice, transparency and accountability and country run with the direct input of the people, for the good of all. It’s within our grasp.
