End The Union

Just what is the point of the Union? What exactly does Scotland get from it? We’re a normal country, right? And normal countries aren’t in unions. So why is Scotland in a union? Or are we not a normal country? We can’t be both.

How The Union Came To Be

In 1707, Scotland and England forged the Treaty of Union to make the ‘United Kingdom’. Why? Why would Scotland do this? Only 400 years after the Declaration of Arbroath and we just ‘voluntarily’ gave up our independence? Aye, right.

The Darien Venture

Scotland’s attempt to form a colony in Panama could not be allowed to succeed. Whether they shared a king or not, Scotland would not be allowed to get in the way of England’s empire and Darien was deliberately sabotaged by the East India Company and the Royal Navy.
